LOOK: Duterte watches viral Tarlac shooting video

The President is also angry at what happened, says Sen. Bong Go after the Chief Executive saw the viral video of the shooting in Tarlac.

MANILA, Philippines —  President Rodrigo Duterte watched the viral video of the killing of a mother and son by a police officer in Paniqui, Tarlac.

Senator Bong Go, Duterte’s former longtime aide, showed the President the viral video before the latter delivered a speech at the 85th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Monday evening.

“Galit din ang Pangulo sa nangyari,” Go told reporters in a Viber message.

The President, however, made no mention of the incident in his speech, which was delivered via teleconference.

Duterte, who is in his hometown Davao City, will meet with members of the Cabinet before delivering another speech on Monday night.

Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca shot Sonya Gregorio and her son Frank on Sunday outside their house after a heated confrontation.

The shooting incident was captured on video and has gone viral on various social media platforms with the hashtags #StopTheKillingsPH, #JusticeForSonyaGregorio, #EndPoliceBrutality, and #PulisAngTerorista.

Malacañang vowed to deliver justice and assured that Duterte, known for his support to law enforcers, will not protect Nuezca, who already surrendered to the authorities. [ac]
