MANILA, Philippines — An additional 30 modern jeepneys and UV Express vans will be back on the road starting Monday, after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) reopened two routes in Quezon City and the provinces of Bulacan and Rizal.
Under LTFRB Memorandum Circular No. 2020-083 signed on Dec. 16, a total of 15 modern jeepneys will ferry passengers through Rodriguez Suburban Village in Rizal province to SM North Edsa in Quezon City, and vice versa.
On the other hand, 15 UV Express vans will ply the reopened San Rafael, Bulacan, to Cubao, Quezon City, route.
The LTFRB said qualified operators may download from the agency’s website a QR code that must be printed and posted on their vehicles in place of a special permit.
“We are reiterating that there will be no fare increase for the affected UV Express vans and other public utility vehicles unless ordered by the LTFRB,” it added. INQ
