6 more die due to COVID-19 complications in E. Visayas

TACLOBAN CITY – Six more persons in Eastern Visayas have died due to the complications caused by the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

According to the Department of Health (DOH), the latest fatalities are as follows:

  • a 79-year-old woman from Tanauan, Leyte who died last Dec.11;
  • a 55-year-old man from Gandara town in Samar, and, a 56-year-old woman from Victoria, Northern Samar who both died on Dec.16;
  • an 85-year-old woman from Ormoc City, and a 58-year-old woman from Oras, Eastern Samar who both died on Dec.17; and,
  • a 68-year-old man from Catbalogan City, Samar who succumbed on Dec.18.

As of Sunday, the region has a total of 10,125 COVID-19 cases.

On Sunday, at least 124 new cases were recorded in the region.
