A leadership change in the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) is necessary to implement reforms in the operations of the country’s tollways, including the cashless toll collection system, Sen. Grace Poe said on Saturday.
Poe, chair of the Senate committee on public services, said “several breakdowns in the line of responsibility” within the Department of Transportation resulted in the “chaotic” implementation of the cashless system using the radio frequency identification (RFID).
“There should be a leadership change. We’ve seen that the TRB executive director did not do much within the past three years,” she said.—MELVIN GASCON
