MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ COVID-19 caseload reached 458,044 as 1,491 new cases were logged, the Department of Health (DOH) said Saturday.

The latest data from the DOH showed that there were also 436 new recoveries and 36 additional deaths, bringing the respective totals to 421,086 and 8,911.

Of the total cases, 28,047 are active cases, of which 83.4 percent are mild cases, 8.8 percent are asymptomatic, 4.9 percent are critical, 2.5 percent are severe and 0.30 percent are moderate.

There were nine duplicates, of which seven were recovered cases, removed from the total case count.

Moreover, there were nine cases earlier tagged as recoveries but later identified as deaths, the DOH said.
