Biliran governor, wife test positive for COVID-19
TACLOBAN CITY – Biliran Gov. Rogelio Espina and his wife tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a statement, the governor said both of them were asymptomatic and have been quarantined.
“I hope we will go through this quarantine process with no complications. God bless everyone and stay safe,” he said.
Espina was the first governor from Eastern Visayas who acquired the deadly virus.
According to Espina, he and his wife, both physicians by profession, underwent a swab test after two of his employees tested positive for COVID-19.
As of Saturday, Biliran has 159 COVID-19 cases, including 29 active cases and two deaths.
