CITY OF ILAGAN –– Five areas in this city were placed on lockdown on Wednesday due to the spike in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

Mayor Josemarie Diaz said the localized lockdown would cover the villages of Baculod, Bagumbayan, Santa Barbara, and the densely-populated Capitol Hills and City Homes subdivisions in Barangay Alibagu.

The localized lockdown, which will end on Dec. 21, would allow massive contact tracing and isolation of identified close contacts of at least 28 COVID-19 cases in these areas.
