IATF: Isabela back under GCQ until December 31, 2020
MANILA, Philippines — The Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has placed the province of Isabela back to general community quarantine (GCQ) until December 31, 2020 due to a spike in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections.
The GCQ implementation would not apply to Santiago City, an independent component city, Palace and IATF spokesperson Harry Roque said Tuesday during his regular press briefing.
Roque said that the IATF elevated the province’s quarantine status from the most lenient modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) to GCQ following the proposal of Governor Rodolfo Albano III.
Most areas in the country are currently under MGCQ except Metro Manila, Batangas, Iloilo City, Tacloban City, Lanao del Sur, Iligan City, Davao City and Davao del Norte which are all under GCQ until December 31, 2020.
