MANILA, Philippines — The chief of the Malate, Manila police station is under investigation for supposed neglect of duty due to inadequate number of police officers deployed in his area of responsibility, Manila Police District (MPD) chief Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco said on Tuesday.
In a text message to INQUIRER.net, Francisco said Police Lieutenant Colonel Robert Sales, station commander of Malate, was relieved after only 13 out of 48 duty personnel were fielded to secure Malate.
“During my inspection.. kulang ang pulis na supposedly naka duty. 13 lang out of 48 na dapat in one time ay nasa AOR [area of responsibility] ng Malate. He [Sales] has 176 personnel. He’s under investigation for Neglect of Duty,” said Francisco.
(There is a lack of police personnel. Only 13 out of 48 personnel were deployed in their AOR. Sales has 176 police officers under his command.)
