Isabela backtracks on quarantine status: GCQ, not MECQ, until Dec. 30

CITY OF ILAGAN –– Shortly after announcing the new quarantine status for Isabela, Gov. Rodolfo Albano III said the province would no longer be placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).

Albano said the province would instead shift to the less stringent general community quarantine (GCQ) until Dec. 30 as directed by the regional COVID-19 task force.

But the GCQ status of Isabela remains stricter than its previous quarantine restrictions under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

Isabela’s active coronavirus disease cases soared to 447 as of Monday, which prompted local officials to impose stringent measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19.
