Bulakan mayor, retired PBA star Meneses in isolation after contracting COVID-19
BULAKAN, Bulacan–Mayor Vergel Meneses said he is undergoing isolation after he tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Thursday.
Meneses underwent a voluntary swab testing on Wednesday and tested positive for the virus on the following day.
He disclosed his condition on his social media account Saturday, noting that he was asymptomatic.
“Bata man po o matanda, mahirap o mayaman, puwede po tamaan ng COVID kaya patuloy po tayong mag-ingat,” said. Meneses, a retired Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) superstar.

Article continues after this advertisementMeneses said the municipal health office has already started tracing those who had close contact with him.
The mayor’s office at the municipal hall has been closed for disinfection and will resume operations on Monday, he said.
