DOH reports 1,301 new coronavirus cases
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) recorded an additional 1,301 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, raising the national tally to 448,331.
Davao del Norte reported the highest number of new infections, 96, followed by Quezon City (76), Laguna (59), Rizal (50) and Western Samar (50).
Another 111 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of survivors to 409,433. The death toll rose to 8,730 as 35 patients succumbed to the severe respiratory disease.
The recoveries and deaths left the country with 30,168 active cases, of which 85.8 percent are mild, 7 percent asymptomatic, 0.24 percent moderate, 2.3 percent severe and 4.6 percent critical.
