THE Cebu International School (CIS) is inviting local football clubs to compete in the CIS Friendship Cup happening on Feb. 18 and 19 at the school’s football field.
Deadline for registration is on Feb. 10 with the draw to be done on Feb. 13.
The event is organized to help promote the grassroots development of football in Cebu.
The CIS Friendship Cup is a festival of football tournament with 7-a-side and 5-a-side matches. There will be 12 age categories to be contested.
To be played on Feb. 18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. are the players 8 and 10; boys 12 and 14; girls 17 and the men’s open.
On Feb. 19, teams seeing action are those playing in the players 6, girls 14, boys 17, women’s open, 40 above and the BPO.
Players 8 and 10 will have the 5-a-side matches while the rest of the categories will have the 7-a-side.
Registration will be on a first come first served basis.
Each age category will have a maximum of 16 teams, while each club or school is only allowed a maximum of four teams.
Category champions will get trophies and medals and only medals for the runners-up.
A coaches meeting will be held on Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sideline Garden Room.
