MANILA, Philippines — More than 4,000 casual employees of the Pasig City government will receive an increase in their salaries next year to ensure their job security amid the coronavirus disease pandemic, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said.
“Effective January 2021, we are PROMOTING 4,339 CASUAL EMPLOYEES TO INCREASE THEIR SALARY. FROM 11,551 PESOS TO 13,572 PESOS PER MONTH. (from Salary Grade 1 to 3),” Sotto wrote in a tweet on Friday.
DIGNIDAD at SEGURIDAD… lalo na para sa mga "mababa" ang posisyon o sahod…

Sotto added that among the city government’s goals is to turn more contractual employees into regular employees.
“Regularization of employees (yung next batch natin nasa 617 empleyado na 15 yrs [years] pataas nang kontraktwal.. kung pwede lang sanang sabay-sabay na lahat, pero kailangan strategic at responsable ang pag gawa natin nito),” he said
(The next batch of employees, which is around 617 employees who have been contractual for 15 years and above, will be regularized. If only we can do this simultaneously, but we need to be responsible and strategic in doing this.)
The mayor announced in January this year that 53 casual employees had been regularized.
On his birthday, 100 more employees on contractual status were also regularized.
