COVID-19 cases in PH reach 447,039, with 1,504 new infections

MANILA, Philippines — The country’s COVID-19 caseload reached 447,039 after 1,504 new cases were logged, the Department of Health (DOH) said Friday.

The latest data from the DOH showed that there were also 273 new recoveries and eight additional deaths, bringing the respective totals to 409,329 and 8,709.

Of the total cases, 29,001 are active cases, of which 85.8 percent are mild cases, 6.7 percent are asymptomatic, 4.8 percent are critical, 2.4 percent are severe and 0.25 percent are moderate.

Davao City was identified as the area having the most number of new cases with 122, followed by Rizal with 85, Quezon City with 80, the City of Santiago in Isabela with 67 and Bulacan with 64.

There were five duplicate cases, of which one was a recovered case, removed from the total case count, the DOH said

Moreover, there was one case earlier tagged as a recovery but later identified as a fatality, the DOH added.
