Father of conjoined twins in Cotabato City seeks Pacquiao’s help

COTABATO CITY, Philippines– An avid fan of world boxing icon and Sarangani Representative Manny Pacquiao has asked the pound-for-pound king to help him in bringing his conjoined twins to Manila for further medical attention.

Dondi Sultan Kamaong, a 40-year-old passenger motorcycle driver, sought Pacquiao’s help after his wife, Raida, gave birth to conjoined twins at a private hospital here Friday.

“We never thought it would be conjoined twins. Now we do not have enough money to medically separate them,” Kamaong said.

“Representative Pacquiao, if you are listening and have a helping heart for the poor, please come to our rescue,” he said in a radio interview, adding that he has been an avid fan of Pacman since he was an amateur boxer.

The twins, named Nurhawa and Nur Ridzkie, are attached to each other from their chins down to their chests but with separate genitals.

“We thought they were twins but not conjoined as the ultrasound showed,” Kamaong said.

According to Kamaong, doctors had told him that the baby girls are in critical condition and must be separated. However, he was also told to prepare a big amount of money, which he simply could not raise.

“I am pinning my hope on Representative Pacquiao, I know he has a lot (of money) and he is generous,” Kamaong told the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

He has admitted having no access to the Saranggani lawmaker and that he has been relying on the media to send a message to the world boxing champion.

He aired the same appeal to other generous citizens to extend a helping hand.
