Street execution: Man who had confessed to drug use killed, partner wounded in Negros Oriental city
BACOLOD CITY—Motorcycle-riding assassins shot and killed a man who had confessed to drug use and wounded his partner in an attack on a busy street in Bais City, Negros Oriental on Sunday (Dec. 6).
Patrick Manuel Romero, 31, was driving a motorcycle with his live-in partner, Rhea Lou Pagador, 29, as passenger when they were waylaid by the assailants, who have not been identified.
The gunman on the back of the motorcycle shot Romero multiple times, a police report said.
Romero and his partner were rushed to Bais City District hospital where Romero was pronounced dead. Pagador survived the attack with a gunshot wound in the elbow.
Forensics examiners found at the crime scene an unspent bullet, seven spent .45 caliber bullets, a deformed .45 caliber slug and a mobile phone.
Chief Msg. Edelberto Euroba III, public information officer of the Negros Oriental police, said police in Bais are now investigating the killing.
