SAN JOSE CITY — Two drug suspects were killed after they reportedly resisted arrest and fired shots at policemen during a buy-bust operation here on Sunday.
Investigators identified the suspects as Bryan Leonile Dris, 33, and Hymer Leung, 34, both residents of Baguio City.
Police Col. Marvin Joe Saro, Nueva Ecija police director, said Dris was no. 3 in the list of top illegal drug personalities in the region.
The two suspects engaged authorities in a shootout in Barangay Sto. Niño First around 1: 30 a.m., police said. A cohort of the suspects had managed to escape.
Forensic investigators recovered a .38-caliber revolver, a .22-caliber pistol, a sachet of “shabu” (crystal meth), and the suspects’ car from the site.
