QC minors allowed to go out only for essential travel but with guardians, parents

MANILA, Philippines — Children aged below 15 years old in Quezon City can leave home to avail essential services as long as their parents and guardians accompany them, local government said.

According to City Mayor Joy Belmonte’s revised quarantine guidelines issued on Dec. 4, persons younger and older than ages between 15 to 65 years old are allowed to go out for the following reasons:

-when physical presence is required at work;

-dealing with emergencies;

– for purposes of air/sea travel as shown by pre-booked tickets;

-medical and dental appointments.

“In addition to the foregoing requirements, persons below 15 years old that leave home should be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian,” read the guidelines.

Parents or guardians should plan their trips if they will bring their children outside to avoid overcrowding, which could potentially increase the number of COVID-19 infections in the community.

“Further, parents or guardians accompanying minors should plan trips to avoid peak hours and crowded areas, and to the extent possible, avoid prolonged interaction with persons outside their immediate household,” read the guidelines.

“Encourage toilet use before leaving home to minimize use of public toilets, and if public toilet use is necessary, supervise the minor to ensure that masks are kept on and proper washing is done afterwards,” the city government also added.

Likewise, Quezon City also allowed persons between 15 to 65 years old to go out but they must bring valid identification cards to show their age or status as a worker and employee.
