Search of Quezon village exec’s house yields unlicensed guns, ammo

LUCENA CITY—Police seized unlicensed firearms from a village councilor in Candelaria town, Quezon province early on Friday (Dec. 4).

Col. Audie Madrideo, Quezon police chief, said in a report that operatives, armed with a search warrant, went to the house of Ronilo Maligaya, 41, at the village of Masalukot around 7 a.m.

The policemen seized a .45 caliber pistol and a .22 caliber rifle, both without licenses.

Authorities also seized three magazines and bullets.

Also seized was a Toyota Revo.

Maligaya was detained at the local police station and faces charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
