MANILA, Philippines — An informant of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and two bystanders were hurt after two armed men shot them along Holy Spirit Drive in Quezon City on Friday morning.
Police identified the victims as Densen Tan, an NBI informant who contributed to the agency’s anti-drug drive; a certain Irene Versoza; and Carlota Lamata.
Initial investigation showed that Tan, who was driving his sports utility vehicle (SUV), was traversing along Holy Spirit Drive in front of Don Jose Street when the assailants on another SUV shot his vehicle multiple times at 9:45 a.m.
Tan managed to survive the attack after he alighted his vehicle and ran to a nearby bank. The gunmen continued shooting, but the stray bullets hit Versoza and Lamata, who were rushed to the nearest hospital.
The stray bullets also hit parked vehicles in front of the bank.
