/ 05:14 AM December 04, 2020

Jevilyn Cullamat, the daughter of Bayan Muna Rep. Eufemia Cullamat who was killed in a battle between the military and the New People’s Army, was buried at the Lianga public cemetery in Surigao del Sur at 2 p.m. on Thursday. The Manobo lawmaker said in a statement on Thursday that she was not even able to attend her daughter’s funeral due to serious threats to her security. “Jevilyn will continue to be an inspiration to me, to the ‘lumad’ and to the oppressed Filipinos,” the congresswoman said. —NESTOR CORRALES
