TAGBILARAN CITY—A man died after he was allegedly stabbed by a friend as he slept on a hammock at the village of Cogon here on Thursday (Dec. 3).
The victim was Noel Alberio, 41, who sold vegetables at the Cogon Public Market.
Noel, according to a witness, was having drinks with friends below a cliff near the Balong-Balong Beach around 3 p.m. and fell asleep.
The suspect, Clifford Monton, arrived and stabbed Alberio in the neck.
Monton, resident of Booy village in Tagbilaran, surrendered to village officials.
Marino Alberio, the victim’s brother, said his younger brother and the suspect were friends.
He said he didn’t know what drove Monton to kill Noel.
