Military reports seizure of P4M in meth in Davao City
MANILA, Philippines—Authorities on Wednesday (Dec. 2) seized P4 million worth of shabu, or crystal meth, at a checkpoint in Davao City, President Rodrigo Duterte’s hometown.
A 19-year-old identified as Erl Cesar Pitogo, who was aboard a maroon Toyota Vios, was flagged by law enforcers at the Sirawan checkpoint, a military report said.
Pitogo was traveling from Cotabato City to Nabunturan, Davao de Oro. A “thorough” inspection of his vehicle led to the discovery of five plastic packs of different sizes containing a substance believed to be meth.
The military said a total of 77 suspects had been caught at checkpoints of the Task Force Davao this year with more than P14 million in illegal drugs seized.
