Llamas get Palace memo over pirated DVD controversy

MANILA, Philippines—Ronald Llamas, political adviser of President Benigno Aquino III, has been given until Feb. 1 to explain why no administrative case should be filed against him for his alleged purchase of pirated DVDs last week in a Quezon City mall, a Malacañang spokesperson said on Monday.

The explanation from Llamas was being sought in a memorandum issued by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. last Jan.27, said Abigail Valte, a spokesperson of the President.

Llamas has apologized to Mr. Aquino for the incident and said he was ready to accept the results of the investigation
