73-year-old Bohol patient dies after admission in hospital due to COVID-19
TAGBILARAN CITY –– A resident of Garcia Hernandez town in Bohol province died in a hospital shortly after being admitted due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, spokesperson of the Bohol Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF), said the latest fatality was a 73-year-old male from Barangay West-Lungsodaan in Garcia Hernandez, who died at Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH).
He was the 15th COVID-19 fatality in the province.
The COVID Management Team in Garcia-Hernandez said the 14-year-old grandson of the fatality also contracted the virus.
It said all contacts have been isolated for close monitoring.
The province’s active cases increased to 151 within three days.
Article continues after this advertisementIn Tagbilaran City, several houses in seven barangays have been placed on granular lockdown after some residents in the villages contracted the COVID-19.
As of Wednesday, Bohol has 750 COVID-19 cases, including 584 recoveries and 15 deaths.
