DAVAO CITY—A bill has been filed in the House of Representatives on Tuesday (Dec. 1) seeking to extend the period of transition for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The bill, authored by Rep. Esmael Mangudadatu, also seeks to postpone the first regular elections in the autonomous region to 2025.

The bill, if enacted, would extend by three years the life of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), the interim government of the BARMM.
