MANILA, Philippines — Former Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr. is back in President Rodrigo Duterte’s Cabinet following his appointment as presidential adviser on streamlining of government processes, Malacañang said Wednesday.

“The Palace confirms that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has signed the appointment of Mr. Leoncio Badilla Evasco Jr. as Presidential Adviser on Streamlining of Government Processes, with the rank of Secretary, on November 24, 2020,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.

Evasco served as Cabinet Secretary from 2016 to 2018 before he resigned to run as governor of Bohol province.

He also previously served as chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council.

“His familiarity with the present bureaucracy would contribute greatly to his new task of streamlining government processes in the Executive. Welcomer back, PA Evasco,” Roque said.
