Musician-turned-DICT USec named Duterte’s adviser for telecommunications

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang announced Wednesday the appointment of musician and radio jockey Ramon Pereyra Jacinto as President Rodrigo Duterte’s adviser for telecommunications.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Jacinto was appointed to his new post on Nov. 25.

Prior to his new appointment, Jacinto served as Presidential Adviser on Economic Affairs and Information Technology and later became Undersecretary of the Department of information and Communications Technology.

Jacinto campaigned for Duterte and performed in the then Davao City mayor’s rallies during the 2016 presidential elections.
