MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and other parts of the country will experience rains or thunderstorms on Wednesday due to the tail-end of a frontal system and a low pressure area, the weather bureau said.
In its daily weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last located 100 kilometers east of Borongan City in Eastern Samar.
It added that the tail-end of a frontal system will affect the eastern section of southern Luzon, while the northeast monsoon will affect the rest of Luzon.
The LPA and the tail-end of a frontal system will bring cloudy skies and scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.
Meanwhile, Ilocos Region will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains brought about by the northeast monsoon.
The rest of the country will likewise have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.
Pagasa warned that flash floods or landslides may occur during moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
Luzon and Visayas are expected to have moderate to strong winds from the northeast to northwest with moderate to rough coastal conditions.
Light to moderate winds from northwest to southwest and slight to moderate coastal waters, meanwhile, will prevail over Mindanao, Pagasa said.
