PH registers 1,298 new COVID-19 cases; total at 432,925

MANILA, Philippines — Philippines on Tuesday recorded 1,298 more cases of the coronavirus disease, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infections to 432,925.

As of 4 p.m., the Department of Health (DOH) reported that 5.9 percent of the total cases nationwide or 25,725 cases are active.

Of the new cases, Ilocos Norte dominated the list of cities with the highest new infections of COVID-19. DOH said Ilocos Norte had 84 additional cases.

This was followed by Manila with 61 new infections; Quezon with 55; Laguna with 50; and Negros Occidental with 47.

Meanwhile, 135 more people recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 398,782.

Also, the country’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 8,418, including 27 new deaths.
