WATCH: PCOO’s Badoy hits CPP-NPA for death of Rep. Cullamat’s daughter

MANILA, Philippines — Presidential Communications Operations Office Undersecretary Lorraine Badoy on Tuesday blasted the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) for the death of Bayan Muna Rep. Eufemia Cullamat’s daughter.

In a Radyo INQUIRER video, Badoy said she was saddened by the death of Jevilyn Campos Cullamat, or “Ka Rep,” who allegedly served as a medic for the NPA,

The younger Cullamat was killed in an encounter with the Philippine Army’s 3rd Special Forces Battalion (3SFBn) last November 28.

“I was so sad kasi nadagdagan [‘yung namatay]. Ito ‘yung isang laban na hindi ko nakikita na panalo or talo. Talo tayo lahat dito kung ganyan kabata yung namamatay,” she said.

“Makikita nyo talaga kung ganao kabulok ang CPP NPA NDF. Sa nanay mismo na ganun ang reaksyon, na ginagamit pa rin ang anak hanggang sa kamatayan,” she added.

She alleged that Rep. Cullamat, whom she said is a high-ranking member of the CPP-NPA, recruited her daughter to the CPP-NPA.

“Siya ang naghikayat sa anak niya sa NPA, sya nagdala sa terrorist training camps. Pagkatapos nung namatay, nag-presscon muna, hindi pa nga siya muna pumunta sa anak niya eh,” Badoy said.

Badoy has relentlessly red-tagged several organizations, even lawmakers, particularly the Makabayan bloc lawmakers, including Cullamat.

Makabayan lawmakers earlier called on Badoy to resign from her post for red-tagging them without any sufficient basis. [ac]
