Robredo urges more local quarantine measures

/ 04:49 AM November 30, 2020

MANILA,  Philippines — As the Christmas season draws nearer, Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday urged the government to consider adopting more local quarantine measures to allow areas with low community transmissions of the coronavirus to return to normal.

In her weekly radio show, Robredo stressed anew that lockdown policies should not be implemented as “one-size-fits all” and urged the interagency task force to listen to the input of local officials.

This comes after Metro Manila mayors expressed their desire to keep restrictions until the year’s end. Robredo noted that there were areas in the country that first reported COVID-19 cases in April but have disappeared since. “For me, they should have a different treatment,” she said.
