Calabarzon’s most wanted man killed in shootout with cops in Albay

LEGAZPI CITY — The most wanted person in Southern Tagalog region was killed on Saturday night in a shootout with policemen while two of his companions were arrested in a police operation in Daraga town in Albay province, a police report said.

Rodel Llorera, 42, tagged as Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (Calabarzon) region’s most wanted person, was killed while resisting arrest by police and military operatives armed with a warrant of arrest at a residence in Barangay (village) San Ramon at around 9 p.m., said Police Captain Dexter Panganiban, Albay police spokesperson.

The report said the policemen were serving the arrest warrant issued September 24, 2018 by Judge Ma. Josefina San Juan-Torres of Regional Trial Court Branch 79 in Morong, Rizal for the crime of direct assault with murder and direct assault with attempted murder when the suspect drew his caliber .45 handgun and a hand grenade.

This led to a firefight where the suspect sustained multiple bullet wounds that killed him on the spot.

Recovered from the crime scene were a loaded caliber .45 pistol, a grenade, and personal belongings.

Arrested at the operation were Felimon Madridano, 33, a construction worker, and Honeybee Boneo, 33, all residents of said village. Madridano was arrested for illegal possession of a caliber .38 pistol, while Boneo was arrest for harboring a criminal despite knowing that the suspect was a wanted person.
