CABBIE HURT

IN ROBBERY

A 46-YEAR-OLD taxi driver was critically wounded after he fought off a robber in Talisay City, southern Cebu.

Angel Gapati, driver of Sheena Taxi, sustained stab wounds in different parts of the body.

Police said investigators are monitoring certain individuals who could be behind the attack.

Police said a man flagged Gapati down in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City and asked to be brought in sitio Kalmar, Talisay.

Police said that when they reached their destination, the passenger pointed a knife at the driver and declared a hold-up.

Gapati resisted when the robber stabbed him repeatedly. The robber fled empty handed.

MAN SHOT BY NEIGHBOR

A 35-YEAR-OLD man was severely wounded after he was shot in the head by his neighbor in barangay Tayud, Consolacion town, northern Cebu at dawn yesterday.

Rufino Baculi Jr, 35, was rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

The suspect, Rastinel Basan, 32, surrendered to police after the incident.

Police said the two men bore grudges against each other.

Basan said he shot Baculi in self-defense. He told police that he was walking home midnight when Baculi tried to attack him with a barbecue stick.

ARMED

WAREHOUSEMAN

A WAREHOUSEMAN was arrested for carrying an unlicensed firearm in barangay Basak-San Nicolas, Cebu City, last Saturday night.

A .22 magnum revolver was recovered in Angelito Gomez’s possession.

Police said Gomez, 53, was drunk during the incident. He was seen arguing with a co-working outside the mall whey they are working.

Barangay tanods arrived and found out that Gomez was carrying a gun. The man failed to present documents to prove that the was licensed.

GUARD ‘SHOT’

A 23-YEAR-OLD security guard was accidentally shot and wounded by another security guard in barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City saturday night.

Jorjilino Adlawan Jr. of Wolforce Security Agency sustained splinter wounds in the legs.

According to police, Adlawan’s shotgun was borrowed by fellow security guard Gilbert Catubig, 21. The guards are assigned in a restaurant on Fuentes road.

Police said Catubig was checking on the shotgun went it went off, hitting Adlawan.
