MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon will experience rains on Friday due to a low-pressure area, the weather bureau said.
In its daily weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said a low-pressure area was located in the vicinity of Bubulong Munti, Bulacan at 3 a.m. Friday.
It is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon region, La Union and Pangasinan.
The same weather condition is also expected over the Caraga and Davao regions due to the easterlies.
The Bicol region, Mimaropa, Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao will likewise experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
Pagasa warned that flash floods and landslides are possible in rain-affected areas.
Cloudy skies with light rains, meanwhile, will prevail over Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Ilocos region due to the northeast monsoon.
Northern and Central Luzon will have moderate to strong winds in the northeast direction, with moderate to rough coastal waters.
Moderate to strong winds from east to northeast will be experienced over southern Luzon, coupled with moderate sea conditions.
Meanwhile, Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds from east to northeast and slight to moderate coastal conditions.
