CITY OF MALOLOS—At least 33 villages in 12 towns and a city of Bulacan province remained without electricity due to damaged power lines caused by Typhoon Ulysses, the provincial disaster risk reduction management office (PDRRMO) said.
The power outages have added to the burden of 39,000 students of the Bulacan State University (BulSU), the largest in the province. The university would resume online classes by Dec. 1 after a two-week academic break triggered by the onslaught of the typhoon.
Mark Daniel Caingat, a customer service officer of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), said they could not determine yet when the power in these areas would be restored.
BulSU President Cecilia Gascon and the university academic council implemented the academic break from Nov. 19-29.
Records from the PDRRMO showed that some areas in the towns of San Ildefonso, Calumpit, Hagonoy, Donya Remedios Trinidad (DRT), Angat, Plaridel, Paombong, Baliwag and City of San Jose del Monte were still experiencing power interruptions.
