30 centenarians in Negros Occidental to get P100k in assistance

BACOLOD CITY –– At least 30 centenarians in Negros Occidental will each receive P100,000 in cash assistance from the provincial government.

According to Merle Garcia, officer-in-charge of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Hinigaran and Himamaylan towns have five centenarians each, Cauayan and Cadiz (three each), Sagay Candoni and La Carlota City (two each), and Escalante City, EB Magalona, Manapla, La Castellana, Isabela, Bago City, Kabankalan City and Ilog (one each).

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lascon delivered the cash assistance to eight centenarians at their homes in the cities of Escalante, Sagay, and Cadiz and the municipalities of Manapla and E.B. Magalona last Friday.

Garcia said the governor would distribute cash assistance to 13 centenarians in southern Negros this week.
