Tail-end of frontal system to trigger rains in E. Visayas; Amihan to bring cold winds in Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — The tail-end of a frontal system is currently affecting the weather in the eastern section of Visayas while the northeast monsoon continues to bring lower temperatures in most parts of Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean are affecting the weather condition in Mindanao.

Based on the weather forecast issued by Pagasa at 4 a.m., the tail-end of a frontal system and the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region and Caraga.

Pagasa also said that Palawan, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms and easterlies.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

“Sa natitirang bahagi ng Luzon kasama na ang Metro Manila ay magiging maganda ang taya ng panahon. May pagkakataon na magiging makulimlim ang kalangitan and then may inaasahan tayong mga isolated na pag-ulan lamang dahil po sa amihan o northeast monsoon. So asahan po natin na medyo makakaramdam po tayo ng mababang temperatura o malamig po ang ating hangin,” Pagasa weather specialist Shelly Ignacio said.

(We will experience fair weather in the rest of Luzon including Metro Manila. There are times when there will be partly cloudy skies and we can also expect isolated rains because of amihan or northeast monsoon. So we can expect low temperatures or cold winds.)
