DOH: 1,118 more COVID-19 infections logged; total cases now at 421,722

MANILA, Philippines — The country’s total COVID-19 caseload rose to 421,722 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,118 new infections on Tuesday.

In its daily case bulletin, DOH also reported that 196 COVID-19 patients have recovered while 12 others have died, bringing the tally of recoveries and deaths to 386,792 and 8,185, respectively.

Of the sum COVID-19 cases nationwide, 26,745 were considered active, according to DOH.

Caloocan City logged the most number of new infections with 89 cases, trailed by Davao City (52), Laguna (52), Quezon (47), and Quezon City (46), DOH said.

DOH also said it revised its COVID-19 data with the removal of 10 duplicates from the total case count, including two recovered cases.

It added that the adjustment was likewise due to the reclassification of six recovery cases into death cases after final validation.
