MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP), through its Financial Service, has rolled out nearly P8 billion to pay for the yearend bonuses and cash gift of 215,571 PNP personnel.

PNP chief Gen. Debold Sinas said the P7.98 billion would be given to personnel who are qualified to receive the mandated financial benefit.

He said the amount is now credited to their individual ATM payroll account with the Land of the Philippines.

“However, payment of bonus is deferred for personnel with administrative cases, especially those serving suspension,” Sinas said.

This year’s total of yearend bonus is slightly higher than the P7.4-billion given to 205,189 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the PNP in 2019. [ac]
