Fair weather for Metro Manila, most parts of PH — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather is expected for Metro Manila and most parts of the country on Saturday, the state weather bureau said.

In its 5 a.m. live weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that localized thunderstorms continue to affect the weather conditions for Metro Manila and most parts of the Philippines, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over these areas.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or amihan is affecting extreme Northern Luzon, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

According to weather specialist Benison Estareja, Pagasa has spotted a cloud cluster east of Mindanao.

“Ito ay magdadala ng pag-ulan dito sa silangang bahagi ng Mindanao, pero hindi natin ito inaasahan na maging low-pressure area or bagyo,” Estareja said.

(This will bring rains over the east of Mindanao, but we do not expect this to develop to a low-pressure area or to a storm.)

Estareja added that there is a low chance that a new tropical cyclone will enter the country in the next five days.

“Magandang balita rin po dahil in the next five days ay mababa yung tsansa na magkaroon tayo ng bagyo sa loob ng ating Philippine Area of Responsibility, but it doesn’t mean naman po na after five days ay magkakaroon na tayo ng bagyo but with high confidence lamang,” the weather specialist said.

(Good news too because in the next five days, there is a low chance that we will have a storm entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility, but it doesn’t mean after five days a storm will then enter, but this is with high confidence only.)
