LUCENA CITY — The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) death toll in Quezon province jumped to 139, after six more deaths were recorded since Tuesday, authorities reported Friday.
In its 10 a.m. bulletin, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) said the latest fatalities are from the towns of Lucban and Dolores.
On Wednesday, three COVID-19 patients also died in the towns of Pagbilao, Mauban and Candelaria.
Another validated coronavirus carrier from Pagbilao was also included in the list of fatalities on Tuesday.
The IPHO records show that from Nov. 1 to 20, a total of 31 COVID-19 patients died.
At least 42 of the total fatalities were also recorded during the month of October.
Lucena City, the capital of the province, had the highest fatalities with 41.
As of Friday morning, Quezon, which remains under the modified general community quarantine status, logged a total of 4,862 COVID-19 cases, 898 of which remained active. The province recorded 3,825 recoveries.
Local health authorities are closely monitoring 290 suspected virus carriers, who are in medical and isolation facilities. At least 303 others are on home quarantine.
