MANILA, Philippines — Batanes, and Babuyan Islands will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains on Thursday due to the northeast monsoon or amihan, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Based on the weather forecast issued by Pagasa at 4 a.m., Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers most likely in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms.
A similar weather condition is being expected in Visayas and Mindanao, according to Pagasa weather specialist Loriedin Dela Cruz.
According to Dela Cruz, isolated rain showers may occur more frequently in the eastern section of the country due to the easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
She said that there is no weather disturbance currently being monitored within or near the Philippine area of responsibility.
“Sa kasakuluyan wala tayong inaasahang weather disturbance o low pressure area at wala rin tayong inaasahang mamumuong bagyo at least in the next two to three days sa ating pagtaya,” she said.
(As of now, we are not monitoring any weather disturbance or low-pressure area and we are not expecting any tropical cyclone that could occur in the next two to three days.)
