Police arrest 3 foreigners in drug buy-bust in San Juan’s Greenhills village

MANILA, Philippines—Police on Sunday seized some 20 kilos of methamphetamine chloride, or shabu, worth about P100 million during a buy-bust operation at the corner of Wilson street and Ortigas avenue in Greenhills, San Juan City.

Police arrested three foreign nationals— Li Hau Sen, Li Hung Peng and Hoi Heng Un—during the operations. Two of them were Taiwanese and one was a mainland Chinese, police said.

According to police Superintendent Ismael Fajardo Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group, Special Operation Unit 3, also seized from the suspects were two vehicles and boodle money amounting to P4.8 million.

The buy-bust operation was made after task group agents posed as drug buyers and earlier negotiated to deposit the money to the suspects’ account, but the suspects, according to Fajardo, wanted outright cash.
