MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested three suspects and seized from them 500 grams of suspected crystal meth, locally known as shabu, in a buy-bust operation in Pasay City on Wednesday.
The shabu is worth about P3.4 million, according to a PDEA report.
The Special Enforcement Team of the PDEA Calabarzon office conducted the operation at the branch of a fast food chain on Roxas Boulevard.
The suspects were identified as Halil Olama, 23,; Samsoding Ampatuan, 23; and Junaid Casidar — all of Parañaque City.
The PDEA also recovered the marked money used by undercover agents, although it was unclear how much was retrieved.
Photos from PDEA showed a backpack with the shabu and a bundle of 1,000-peso bills in a brown paper bag.
The suspects will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
