MANILA, Philippines — Weather throughout the week is expected to be generally fair and sometimes warm and humid as no weather disturbance is seen to enter the country’s jurisdiction, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the Pacific Ocean remains clear, with no signs of cloud building up that may result in low-pressure areas or tropical cyclones.
However, Pagasa said that isolated rain showers may still occur, especially in the afternoon and night. The northwest monsoon or amihan is still expected to bring winds over the Northern Luzon area.
For Thursday, most parts of the country would see clear skies, which will also be humid and warm. Temperatures in Metro Manila and Laoag would play around 24 to 32 degrees Celsius, while it would be from 26 to 32 degrees in Puerto Princesa and Legazpi.
For flood-stricken Cagayan Valley, temperatures have started rising, now around 23 to 32 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao.
Same conditions would be felt over Visayas and Mindanao, as Iloilo and Tacloban expect temperatures around 25 to 32 degrees Celsius, Cebu with 26 to 32 degrees, Zamboanga at 24 to 33 degrees. In comparison, Davao would remain warm at 25 to 34 degrees.
All previous gale warnings have been lifted, although sea conditions over the extreme Northern Luzon would be moderate to rough due to the northeast monsoon. It would then be moderate over the eastern seaboards and slight to moderate for the rest of the country.
This means that small boats across the country — like those owned by fisherfolk — can now operate freely. [ac]
