PhilHealth raises free dialysis sessions to 144

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has increased to 144 the number of dialysis sessions that can be shouldered by the state insurance firm. PhilHealth President and CEO Dante Gierran has ordered all health-care institutions and their regional offices “to continue honowring all availments beyond the 90-session limit as duly prescribed by a licensed physician.” “Patients who have paid for their hemodialysis sessions are requested to file their claims with the nearest PhilHealth office,” Gierran said in a statement. The maximum 144 sessions are available until Dec. 31, he added. —Jovic Yee
