MANILA, Philippines — Residents of Kasiglahan village in San Jose, Montalban, Rizal have started to clean up their homes nearly a week after Typhoon Ulysses (international name: Vamco) heavily drenched and flooded their area.

In a video by INQUIRER.net, it could be seen that the area was mostly covered in mud.

It could also be seen that mounds of trash —mostly comprised of pieces of furniture and equipment that residents cannot salvage—piled up the area.

On Thursday, Ulysses battered parts of Southern Luzon, Central Luzon, and Metro Manila. For some metro residents, it brought back memories of when Tropical Storm Ondoy (international name: Ketsana), flooded large areas of the capital region in 2009. [ac]
