PH logs 406,337 COVID-19 cases; 8.7% are active cases

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines on Saturday recorded 1,650 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, bringing to 406,337 the total number of recorded coronavirus disease cases.

In its 4 p.m. case bulletin, the Department of Health said that of the total recorded COVID-19 cases, 35,478 or 8.7 percent are active.

Of the 1,650 additional cases, the province of Laguna reported the highest new infections with 84 cases, the DOH said.

Also, 194 more patients recovered from the respiratory disease. This brings the total number of recoveries to 363,068 cases.

Meanwhile, the total COVID-19 death toll nationwide reached 7,791, with 39 new deaths recorded.

The DOH again revised the total COVID-19 caseload after removing 26 duplicates. Of this number, 13 are recovered cases.

Sixteen recoveries were also reclassified as deaths, the DOH  noted.

Meanwhile, nine molecular laboratories did not submit their COVID-19 tally to DOH last Nov. 13, Friday.
